Boozy Southern Comfort milkshake uses just 4 ingredients
There is precisely one thing that’s better than a milkshake on a hot day: A boozy milkshake. And if you like whiskey, we have a recipe you’ll just have to try this summer.
Using four ingredients, this Southern Comfort Milkshake combines the flavors of almond, whiskey and caramel for a seriously decadent shake.
As you can surmise from the recipe’s name, it comes to us from the Southern Comfort whiskey brand. Along with the whiskey, the only other ingredients you need are butter almond ice cream, milk and caramel sauce.
One important note: There’s a chance you have never heard of butter almond ice cream (I hadn’t!). You may be able to find it at your local grocery store, and if you can’t find it, you can substitute it with butter pecan ice cream, as it shouldn’t change the flavor too substantially.
You can also try making the ice cream yourself using an ice cream maker if you want to make sure it’s flavored with almond and not pecan. This recipe from Tutti-Dolci calls for typical ice cream ingredients like cream and milk, along with almond extract, Amaretto and almonds.
Regardless of the kind of ice cream you use, the milkshake sounds like a deliciously boozy treat if you like whiskey. Take a look at the full recipe below:
Southern Comfort Milkshake
Ingredients:
2 oz. Southern Comfort 100 proof
2 cups butter almond ice cream
1 cup milk
Caramel sauce
Method:
Combine Southern Comfort, butter almond ice cream and milk in a blender and blend slow and low until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if a thinner milkshake is desired. Pour into tall glasses and drizzle with caramel sauce.
You can also add whipped cream and caramel corn to the top of the milkshake for an extra-indulgent treat.
Prefer bourbon to whiskey? Check out this chocolate raspberry bourbon float instead. All you need is chocolate raspberry ice cream, berry soda and, of course, bourbon!
You could always make all of this easier on yourself by picking up some ice cream from Häagen-Dazs’ spirits line. Flavors include Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Rosé and more.
