Brantley Gilbert And Wife Amber Welcome Baby Boy After Struggles With Infertility

Infertility is an issue that Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber know about all too well. The couple tried to become pregnant for two years before the pregnancy tests finally read positive. And now, on Nov. 11, they welcomed a son into the world named Barrett Hardy-Clay Gilbert. Too cute!

The country musician opened up about what it feels like to finally have their little bundle of joy.

“Honestly, I’m just speechless,” Gilbert told People. “Watching the delivery, I don’t even know what to say. Amber and I are just so thankful and blessed to have this beautiful little boy.”

The proud dad felt blessed since the moment he found out he and his wife were expecting. He told People that his wife broke the news to him by giving him a box holding three pregnancy tests. Each of them, of course, were positive.

“I think I stared at it for at least two minutes without saying anything because I was literally in shock,” he said. “We’d been told it was just not in the cards, and I’m staring at this answer to many, many, many prayers.”

The couple had been trying to conceive for two years and specialists told them it would be difficult for them to get pregnant naturally.

“We’d been to see a fertility specialist, and two different folks that told me it would be close to a miracle if it happened without IVF,” Gilbert told People. “I’m not much of a quitter, but I was really, really frustrated.”

Now that they’ve welcomed a baby boy, however, they’ve proven that there’s light at the end of the tunnel for those dealing with infertility.

The couple is thrilled to have a boy, too. Gilbert told Taste of Country that he was nervous at the thought of having a little girl.

“I really don’t think my kids will be able to pull one over on me, but I am terrified of having a little girl,” he said. “You hear people say that have daughters, ‘Oh, I’ll go to jail.’ But no, I really will—I’ll go to prison.”

They announced they were having a boy at a gender reveal party, and it was then that the couple realized just how much everyone had been rooting for them. “People saw what we were going through, and so many people have these problems, so we’re all in it together.”

Gilbert and his wife certainly aren’t alone in their struggles with infertility, but that doesn’t mean that having a baby is impossible. This couple got pregnant after three years of trying, and the way the wife told the husband is priceless! Happy endings that involve babies are the best, aren’t they?
