This Brewery Is Putting Pictures Of Adoptable Dogs On Its Beer Cans

These sweet pups might find their forever homes with some big-hearted beer-lovers!

There are some creative beer labels out there, and many connect the brewer’s beer with their love of dogs. But one beer company took that display a step further by putting real dogs available for adoption on its beer cans.

Fargo Brewing Company in Fargo, North Dakota, partnered with 4 Luv of Dog Rescue in the same city to create a limited-edition six-pack featuring a half dozen hard-to-adopt rescue dogs.

Take a look at their special labels in this Instagram photo:

The idea for the partnership came from a 4 Luv of Dog volunteer Jerad Ryan, who works for the beer label company Northern Plains Label. When he volunteered at the animal shelter, Ryan would spend extra time with those shelter dogs who didn’t socialize well with other pups. Its harder to find foster homes for these dogs as many foster pet families have other dogs or pets already. The pups end up kenneled solo at shelters.

Ryan got the idea to connect beer with dog adoptions by asking his employer, Northern Plains, to donate labels featuring adoptable dogs to a willing beer company. Fargo Brewing agreed and featured the six pups with its Original Lager line.

The “4 Luv of Dog ‘Oneder Dog’ Beer Release” adoption event on Nov. 4 planned to bring several of the wonderful “oneder” dogs — so named because they are best off being the only dog in a family—featured on the cans to the brewery to meet potential adoptive families. Proceeds from the event were also set to go to 4 Luv of Dog.

Organizers asked that no other dogs be brought to the event so that the adoptable dogs could “shine.” That’s because these particular dogs don’t interact well with other dogs.

For instance, Nyx, a female Jack Russell terrier, was set to be at the event and is described on Facebook as “super smart” and great at tricks but preferring to have “my humans … all to myself.”

Some of the dogs are older or have medical conditions that also make them trickier to place in homes.

Ryan posted on Nov. 3 that Bizzy, one of the “oneder” dogs, could “hardly contain her excitement to go to the brewery tomorrow and give out puppy kisses.”

Here’s hoping all these pooches find forever homes!
