Attention, ‘Harry Potter’ Fans! Butterbeer Ice Cream Now Exists
It’s a good thing this ice cream brand’s founder has kids who are “Harry Potter” fans.
Yuengling’s Ice Cream, based in Pennsylvania, just announced the launch of a new flavor—none other than Butterbeer ice cream—for us muggles to enjoy.
Yuengling’s Butterbeer flavor is made using half buttercream ice cream and half butterscotch ice cream. But the fun doesn’t stop there. There’s also the butterscotch swirl to enjoy. Interestingly, while the Yuengling’s ice cream brand comes from the same family that makes Yuengling beer, the ice cream is non-alcoholic.
“My kids were big Harry Potter fans and we wanted to do something unique,” David Yuengling, president of Yuengling’s Ice Cream, told Huffington Post.
What’s even better is that it’s part of the permanent line-up for the brand. This isn’t a limited-edition kind of thing. Oh no—this one’ll be around for the die-hard fans for the foreseeable future.
The flavor can now be found at specialty grocery stores and some chain stores around the country for $3.69-$3.99, so you better go scoop up a pint (or several) at a store near you. (Use their store locator to find a location near you.)
Now that this flavor exists, you’ve got to rewatch all of the “Harry Potter” movies and re-read all of the books, with a pint in your lap and a spoon in your hand. Because every HP-bingeing session is better with ice cream, of course.
This certainly isn’t the first time someone’s tried to capture the Butterbeer taste, but it is definitely the first time there’s been a frozen treat involved.
Besides the butterscotch-flavored M&Ms released last fall that tasted a whole lot like we imagine Butterbeer might taste, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks took it one step further and developed an actual butterbeer with none other than J.K. Rowling herself.
And now, David Yuengling hopes that he’s please Rowling with his new take on the beverage, too.
“We hope we made J.K. Rowling proud with this flavor,” he said in a press release.
He’s certainly made fans proud, that’s for sure.
