Pringles has new Sweet Corn flavored chips

Pringles doesn’t mind bending the rules when it comes to its chip flavors. Instead of settling on the traditional standbys such as sour cream and onion and barbecue, the flavor geniuses who work there have always come up with flavor ideas that push the limits, such as Nashville Hot Chicken, Ramen Noodle and even Thanksgiving Dinner.

So it should come as no surprise that Pringles is pushing the envelope yet again, this time with Sweet Corn Pringles. The new flavor is meant to be the perfect accompaniment for summer picnics. Because what flavor is more evocative of summer than fresh, sweet corn on the cob?

Instagrammer @i_need_a_snack shared first impressions of the newest flavor in the Pringles family.

At first, there was some doubt as to whether or not Pringles could pull off a Sweet Corn chip.

“I was excited but also a little scared because corn flavor Pringles honestly sounds a little strange,” reads the post.

Upon popping open the top, this Instagrammer found that the chip’s color absolutely matched the bright yellow of a fresh ear of corn, and the aroma that wafted out of the freshly opened can was also spot on.

“It was as if I had closed my eyes and a hot and steamy corn on the cob with a chunk of butter on top was right in front of me!” they wrote.

But what about the taste?

This Instagrammer compared the taste to a cup of buttered corn rather than an actual ear of corn. But still, Pringles Sweet Corn chips do seem to capture our favorite summer veggie’s sweet and rich, buttery flavor, making for a satisfying snack.

Sweet Corn Pringles are only being sold for a limited time and you can only find them one place: Walgreens. Will you give them a try?
