Can you spot what’s wrong with this home’s driveway?
There are infinite possibilities to consider and countless decisions to make when building a house, from the layout to the siding to the paint colors to the placement of windows and doors.
That being said, there are some decisions that are rightfully simple.
And yet, when a Reddit user posted a photo of a house in North Carolina on the popular forum called “They had one job,” it was clear that not everyone got the memo.
See if you can spot the problem in the photo up above.
As you can see, the house is perfectly lovely.
It’s got a nice mix of brick and siding, the makings for a good-sized yard, and some stately pillars at the front door.
Plus a freshly paved driveway and spacious garage…that are in no way connected to each other. Huh.
On the off chance someone wanted to, say, park a car in that garage, how exactly would they get a car inside?
That is the question that set Reddit ablaze with speculation and confusion, and when the picture was shared on Facebook, the whole internet joined in the chorus of “What the heck is going on here?”
“Inside Edition” even featured the house, which is located in Clemmons, just outside Winston-Salem, in a special segment on the show:
How Did This Happen?
For many people, seeing such thoughtlessness in the home’s design sparked outrage, as it served as a perfect example of slapdash construction thrown together as quickly as possible with nothing but profit in mind.
Other Reddit commenters pointed out potential explanations for the driveway that would actually make some sense.
“It’s not a problem, it’s almost assuredly a model home in a new neighborhood,” one Reddit commenter speculated.
“The driveway as shown in this picture acts as parking lot for patrons and sales employees and the garage acts as the sales office. Once the neighborhood is sold out they will sell the model and reconfigure the house to the ‘correct’ way.”
That very well may be the case, but it’s as yet to be confirmed by the builder.
In the meantime, let’s hope this house’s newfound internet fame will make developers and builders think twice about minor design details like the basic function of a garage.

Instagram Of The Year
For this photo Vergari was nominated for and actually won “Instagram of the Year” from the Shorty Awards, which honors “the best of social media.”
“There are over 600 million Instagram users, and the number of images posted to the app is almost endless, so narrowing them down is no small feat,” according to the Shorty Awards.
“But our nominees for the Instagram Photo of the Year are those indelible images that you can’t forget once you see them, tapping into the spirit of a moment in a way others do not. They are, simply, the best.”
