These Car Brands Have The Highest Cost Maintenance Over Time

When buying a new car, most people pay attention to the look of the car, how it drives, and how much it costs overall. However, many people don’t think to consider the cost of maintenance, but this is money that can add up over the years and change the overall pricing of your car. To help consumers take this into consideration, mobile car repair provider YourMechanic.com analyzed their data to find the car brands and models that require the most maintenance over time.

The website looked at which major brands cost the most to maintain over the first 10 years of a car’s life. To estimate annual maintenance costs, they found the amount spent on every two oil changes. They then grouped all years of all models by brand to compute their average cost.

As expected, luxury vehicles topped the list of most expensive to maintain, but some budget vehicles ranked as well. Their data found that BMWs were the most expensive to maintain, with a 10-year cost of $17,800. Toyota was the least expensive, with a 10-year cost of $5,500.
