Country star Carrie Underwood has been keeping a low profile ever since she suffered a fall outside her home in November 2017. However, the songstress was once again back in the limelight when the video for her new single “The Champion” premiered during the Super Bowl LII kickoff show.

Check out the thrilling performance below:

The video, which was filmed last year before her fall, features Underwood singing in front of a giant screen playing Super Bowl highlights from throughout the years. Keep your eyes peeled for cameos from football legends including Joe Montana, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The song also features rapper Ludacris, a co-writer on the lyrics. “When we were writing ‘The Champion,’ our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives,” Underwood said in a press release. “We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There’s a champion in every single one of us!”

“The Champion” is already popular with at least one athlete: Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher is a professional hockey player who previously announced his retirement from the sport in August, but decided to re-join the Nashville Predators for one last season. Underwood said Fisher was able to hear the inspirational track before it was released and used it as pump-up song before games.

“My husband loved it. He would listen to it before playoff games. He was like, ‘I want everyone to hear it!’ and I had to tell him, ‘You can’t do that. You can’t play it in the locker room. I’m sorry.’ But that was a good indicator that we were on the right track,” she told Variety.

Underwood has performed the theme song for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” for the past five years, and “The Champion” will also be used for the network’s coverage of the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. And, of course, it will join the playlist for all our upcoming workouts!
