Say What? Study Says Cat People Are More Intelligent Than Dog People

Sure, we’ve all heard of the phrase, “Crazy Cat Lady”, but that phrase may not be accurate based upon research.

Did you know that cat people actually have certain personality traits? According to the Newsy video above, cat people are more open-minded, more sensitive, and less likely to follow rules as compared to dog lovers.

And in a study by Carroll University, it was found that cat owners are more intelligent too. Newsy notes that dog people, however, tend to be more outgoing, friendly and active.

“It makes sense that a dog person is going to be more lively, because they’re going to want to be out there, outside, talking to people, bringing their dog,” Denise Guastello, an associate professor at Carroll Univeristy, told Live Science. “Whereas, if you’re more introverted, and sensitive, maybe you’re more at home reading a book, and your cat doesn’t need to go outside for a walk,” she continued.

Because I have a cat, I guess I’m considered a cat person. But I also have a dog. So what does that make me? I’d like to think a healthy balance of both.
