Hollywood couples are notorious for one thing: breaking up. Many relationships don’t last when you’re a celebrity, but there are a few couples who have beaten the odds. One such love story is Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, who recently celebrated their 17th anniversary

The pair met in 1998 at the Deauville American Film Festival and although there is a 25-year age difference, their love has lasted for nearly two decades. The couple married on Nov. 18, 2000, at the Plaza Hotel in New York City and their nuptials were dubbed the “wedding of the year” by the BBC. The newlyweds signed a $1 million deal with OK! magazine to release their wedding photos, not allowing any other press to attend.

Now, 17 years later, Zeta-Jones is giving us a peek at their fabulous wedding day while sending some anniversary love to Douglas on Instagram.

The actress posted a photo of the two leaving their lavish ceremony, writing:

“17 years ago today, I said ‘I do’ to my best friend and father of our two and a half month old son. Thought it could never get better than that day, but it did. Happy anniversary darling, Michael. With you, in my life, and Dylan and Carys, every day could be a twelve hour fantastic party at the Plaza in New York. Love you. #love #lovestrong“.

The latest social media post is no comparison to how the couple spent their sixteenth anniversary, however. The lovebirds returned to the exact spot in Aspen, CO, where Douglas proposed! Zeta-Jones shared that moment via Instagram as well and it is simply stunning:

Although they did split up briefly in 2013, the couple, who have two children, now seem stronger than ever. Speaking that same year, Douglas said the relationship recovered “moment by moment.” He continued:

“Catherine reminds me, I like to say sometimes, we all make more efforts to strangers than we do to the people closest to us. I think love, without getting too corny, [is] nourishing each other, working at relationships, good sustenance, good food, good kids, all kind of a combination.”

Oh, and just when it seems like their love story can’t get any sweeter? They also share a birthday! Adorable.
