Celebrities react and congratulate Tiger Woods on his Masters Tournament victory
Tiger Woods seemed to have the entire world cheering for him on Sunday, April 14 after he drained his final putt to win the 2019 Masters Tournament. Even people who aren’t fans of golf were talking about one of the biggest sports comebacks in history.
After all, it had been 14 years since Woods’ last victory at the Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia, where the elite tournament is held every year. And this 2019 Masters win was Wood’s first major tournament victory since 2008, when he won the U.S. Open Championship.

Cox/Getty Images)Woods’ comeback from physical injury and personal struggles going back more than a decade provided plenty of drama and excitement for golf fans who have been patiently waiting for a victory like this. And, once the Masters’ iconic green jacket was slipped over Tiger’s shoulders for the fifth time, it didn’t take long for famous fans to share their congratulations and support.
Many fellow sports stars offered congratulations and virtual high-fives across social media and especially on Twitter.
Golf legend Jack Nicklaus was one, trumpeting the win at @jacknicklaus as one great for golf as well as Woods personally.

Tennis star Serena Williams couldn’t hold back her emotion while watching Tiger’s performance at Augusta. “I am literally in tears watching Tiger Woods,” she posted at @serenawilliams. “This is Greatness like no other. Knowing all you have been through physically to come back and do what you just did today? Wow Congrats a million times!”

A few basketball legends took their shot on Twitter to celebrate Woods’ championship, as well.
LeBron James not only offered congratulations at @KingJames but also shared the hashtag #Inspired to show how he felt about the win.

And NBA star Stephen Curry (@StephenCurry30) attached a pretty big request to his well-wishes for Woods.

But the praise didn’t come solely from the sports world. When U.S. presidents send you congratulations, you know you’re something pretty special. First, @realDonaldTrump weighed in.
