Celebs you didn’t know had a twin sister or brother

You may think you know a lot about your favorite celebrities, but there’s plenty these actors and actresses don’t necessarily share with their fans. To maintain some semblance of normalcy, these A-listers have kept their family lives somewhat private — which is why you may be surprised to learn that these celebrities actually have twin siblings.

While some of these celeb siblings also work in the entertainment industry, they aren’t squarely in the spotlight like their famous one-time wombmates are. Still, it’s interesting to see who these celebrity twins are and what they are up to. Keep reading to find out.

Scarlet Johansson

The actress has a twin brother, Hunter Johansson. And despite her major celeb status now, she and her brother were able to grow up in a “normal” way — at least until they hit high school.

“When we were growing up in New York City, we led very normal city lives,” the brother told Parade magazine. “We rode the subway to public school… When we entered high school, her career started to grow and moviegoers would approach her in public, that’s when I would sometimes ride with her in a cab to school.”

Scarlet Johansson’s Twin — Hunter

She and her brother are the youngest of four children and, thanks to their twin status, the actress admits to Parade that she feels “very connected to him.” Aww!

Alanis Morissette

The “You Oughta Know” singer has a twin brother, Wade Imre Morissette. In addition to being a musician himself, Wade has found success as a yoga instructor.

Aaron Carter

The ’00s pop star is well-known as the brother to Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, but he also has a twin sister Angel you probably never knew about.

Gisele Bündchen

The extremely well-known supermodel actually has a twin sister, Patricia Bündchen, also known as Pati. You may have seen Pati pop up on the model’s Instagram, especially when celebrating special occasions, such as the birthday they share.

Jon Heder

While Jon Heder has acted in a number of films, the one you likely remember him for is quirky indie breakout “Napoleon Dynamite.” With the image of his Dynamite character dancing on stage seared in our brains, we may be forgiven for not realizing he had a twin brother, Dan.

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher and his wife, Mila Kunis, manage to keep their life together pretty private, despite their star status. But when accepting the Robert D. Ray Pillar of Character Award for demonstrating “good character as a role model,” Kutcher couldn’t help but credit the people who mean the most to him, including his twin brother.

“My brother was born with Cerebral Palsy and it taught me that loving people isn’t a choice and that people aren’t actually all created equal,” he said during the acceptance speech. “The Constitution lies to us. We’re not all created equal. We’re all created incredibly unequal to one another, in our capabilities and what we can do and how we think and what we see. But we all have the equal capacity to love one another, and my brother taught me that.”

Ashton Kutcher’s Twin — Michael

His brother, Michael Kutcher, is a public speaker and advocate for the Reaching for the Stars foundation.

Vin Diesel

He may be known as Vin Diesel now, but he was born Mark Sinclair and has a fraternal twin brother, Paul Vincent.

Diesel posted a photo of his twin brother alongside Paul Walker, his co-star in “The Fast and the Furious” movies until Walker passed away, titling the post, “The Two Pauls.”

Shawn Ashmore

Ashmore is best known for his turn as Bobby Drake/Iceman in the “X-Men” movies, but he’s also appeared in “The Ruins,” “Frozen” (the horror flick, not the Disney film) and more. What you may not realize is that he didn’t appear in “Smallville.” That was actually his twin brother, Aaron.

Rami Malek

“Mr. Robot” actor Rami Malek has an identical twin brother, Sami Malek.

Charlie Carver

Charlie Carver of “Teen Wolf” has an identical twin brother, Max Carver. While perhaps not intentionally, Max helped his brother come out as openly gay:

“At a certain age I started to realize how him and I are different and I wasn’t able to really put a finger on it because the language wasn’t available yet,” the actor told People magazine. “[As a child] I loved to put on makeup and my moms dresses — and he didn’t.”

“Scrubs” actress Judy Reyes has a twin sister, who’s also not a stranger to acting.

Laverne Cox

“Orange Is the New Black” star Laverne Cox has an identical twin brother, and in case you were wondering — they do sometimes get confused for each other.

“He was on the subway once, and someone came up to him and said ‘Are you Laverne Cox from ‘Orange Is the New Black,'” Cox told Conan O’Brien in an interview. “I was offended when he told me that because someone thought that I was a man — because my brother’s clearly a guy, and he said he was offended that someone thought he was an actor. That’s my brother. I love him.”
