‘Champagne hair’ is the prettiest way to go blonde this summer

If you’re looking to lighten your hair for summer — this is the way to do it! This new trend combines one of the most trendy summer items — ahem, rosé — with a lighter hair color that’s perfect for the season.

The bubbly-inspired ‘do, appropriately called “Champagne hair” or “Champagne blonde,” combines blonde coloring with subtle touches of cool pink. So you can sip your sparkling rosé and wear it, too!

This hair trend first burst onto the scene back in 2016 and 2017 when celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Taylor Swift began to showcase that there was more than one way to go blonde. But given that rose hues are still just as trendy, this is a great look for Summer 2018, too!

Here are some celebrity looks you can use to inspire your fun new ‘do:

You can choose to let the rose overpower the blonde, like Jenner:

Or go with a much more subtle tinge of pink coloring à la Swift:

According to Mane Addicts’ editorial director Justine Marjan, this hair color can work for any skin tone.

“This color tends to work best on nearly all skin types as long as the shade is customized by your hair colorist,” Marjan told Hello Giggles. “An experienced colorist will be able to make the right adjustments to the formula to make sure it suits your skin and eye colors best.”

So even if you’ve never imagined yourself as a blonde, this look could work for you.

And as you can see, this hair color looks great when paired with beach-y waves. This post from vipbodyhair on Instagram serves as the perfect example:

If your natural hair color is darker, you’ll want to see a professional to make sure you’re lightening your hair in a way that won’t damage it. But there are some products you can use at home if you’ve already got lighter hair coloring.

For instance, Garnier Nutrisse sells a product called “Champagne Blonde,” and it’s available at Walmart for just $6.97.

Brands such as L’Oreal Paris have hair colors specifically named “Champange Blonde,” too. The L’Oreal Paris version is available for $8.99.

Whether you try to get the look at home or visit a salon, there’s no reason not to put the “blondes have more fun” theory to the test this summer. It doesn’t hurt that this one has the addition of pink, which kind of inherently makes it more fun, right?

Cheers to going Champagne blonde this summer!
