Once school’s out for summer, CheapCaribbean is hoping to sweeten their deals for teachers. Having a well-earned break before the start of another year is always something for education professionals to look forward to, but considering that this airline is offering free flights for teachers — summer’s looking better than ever.
By signing up for the airline’s Beach 4 Teach Club — a club with no kid in sight, their website points out — you’ll be entering your name for a chance to be eligible to receive a free flight for yourself and a guest. In order to be considered, you must book a stay at one of a selection of resorts in Mexico and fill out the Beach for Teach form. The first 50 teachers to do so by May 9, 2019 will receive the free fight offer!
Only teachers in the United States will be considered for this deal, and proof of employment in the form of a pay statement, state education certification, school website proving credentials or a school ID is required for acceptance, according to the CheapCaribbean website.
As for some of the finer print, stays must be booked at one of the following resorts, according to PopSugar — Zoetry, Breathless Secrets, Reflect, Now or Sunscape resort in Mexico — and trips must take place between July 10 and Dec. 31, 2019, with select blackout dates, Travel + Leisure reports.
Winners will be notified of their free flight by May 10 — which is the perfect way to round out Teacher Appreciation Week. This timing was very much a part of the plan because, according to reps for CheapCaribbean, teachers definitely deserve to be congratulated for their hard work.
“There has been a national wave of teacher walkouts for over a year now — 400,000 teachers were off the job in strikes or lockouts in 2018 alone,” representatives said in a statement. “Nearly two-thirds of educators find work ‘always’ or ‘often’ stressful, which is twice the rate of other workers. And, nearly one in five U.S. teachers work a second job and 94% spend their own money on school supplies.”
According to the Teacher Discounts website, this offer from CheapCaribbean isn’t the only way teachers can save on travel this summer, either.
Hotels such as Marriott and StaySky Hotels & Resorts offer discounts throughout the year. Marriott offers discounts for federal, state, county and local government employees, for which teachers may qualify and, at StaySky, teachers will find a 25% teacher discount.
To all the teachers out there, sit’s finally time to take that well-deserved vacation!
