“Dancing With The Stars” star Cheryl Burke and her fiancé Matthew Lawrence continue to celebrate their recent engagement. Back on May 4, Lawrence proposed to his longtime girlfriend on her 34th birthday. The couple posted numerous photos on social media to announce the big news.
Nearly three months have passed since the groom-to-be popped the question, but the celebrating continues! The happy couple was honored with a star-studded engagement party to officially kick off the wedding planning. Burke’s “DWTS” co-star, Kym Herjavec, co-hosted the festivities along with her husband Robert, who stars on “Shark Tank.”
The reality show celebrities (and good friends) took a moment to pose for a classic social media shot, displaying their love for one another.
Burke wasn’t the only one who connected with dear friends at the party. Lawrence had the chance to get together with his former “Boy Meets World” co-star, Ben Savage. You may remember Lawrence played Jack Hunter in the classic TV series. The two friends posed for a sweet reunion photo, which Savage posted on social media.
However, Burke and Lawrence stole the show with their smiles and obvious happiness in sharing their love with family and friends.
“This past weekend @matthewlawrence and I celebrated our engagement with our families and some of our closest friends, and I’ve been daydreaming of it ever since,” Burke wrote in a caption on Instagram. “My stepdad, who I also call Dad because he’s been one to me for most of my life, gave the BEST speech and the whole evening was overflowing with love and laughter. This year has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least, but getting to share this night with the people I love most reminded me of how important it is to celebrate the joy in our lives. It was perfect ❤#lettheweddingplanningbegin.”
The couple has known each other for years. They dated more than a decade ago, and then broke up in 2008. Yet somehow, these two lovebirds couldn’t stay apart. In 2017, the two reunited and they’ve been practically inseparable ever since.
Burke and Lawrence have started the wedding planning, but have yet to announce a date. Burke told People that nothing is set in stone at this point.
“Hopefully next year,” she told the magazine. “I don’t want to put any pressure on a date or a place right now.”
