Chicago is known for its spectacular skyline, and now you can gaze upon it from atop the world’s largest rooftop bar. Located on the third floor of the city’s Navy Pier, Offshore is a new bar and restaurant that is officially the “world’s largest rooftop deck,” according to Guinness World Records.

Offshore offers 52,310.29 square feet of space, and can hold up to 1,000 people. The previous record-holder was only 35,520.90 square feet.

“This is the first of three phases of a project that we’ve undertaken at the Pier about a year ago,” Bob Habeeb, CEO of Maverick Hotels & Restaurants, told WBBM. “The rooftop bar is open, a year from now we’ll be opening a 222-room hotel.”

Check out the incredible view, as shown on Offshore’s Instagram:

The space has communal tables as well as high-top tables and seven fire pits. There is a stage for live music and a space that can be used for events and gaming.

The rooftop bar is open Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.

There’s even a glass-enclosed interior so guests can enjoy Offshore year-round:

Although Navy Pier is a family-friendly destination, Offshore is only open to the over-21 crowd.

The indoor space has two bars offering wine, beer and cocktails. The food menu includes a selection of delights from both the sea and land, including ceviche, a crab roll, lobster deviled eggs, steak tartare and lamb and zucchini meatballs.

After enduring brutally cold winter temperatures, most Chicagoans are more than ready to get outside and enjoy the summer weather this time of year.

“Where else can you have a drink in your hand and look at the lake, look at the skyline and not be on a boat?” said Habeeb of Offshore’s unique concept. “You can’t beat the view.”
