This Chick-fil-A Employee Is Going Viral For Feeding A Customer With A Disability

In case you’ve been swept up in negative news lately, let this story of a Chick-fil-A employee helping a disabled customer warm your heart. A shopper at a mall food court in Corpus Christi, Texas, happened to catch a Chick-fil-A employee going above and beyond the call of duty and took a photo of the kindhearted moment.

The caption on the photo posted by Jessica Gonzalez Gomez read, “While eating at the mall with my family I saw this lovely girl help this man out. I’ve seen this man several times here by himself. This employee sat with him and fed him his food. She went above and beyond. The times I’ve been here everyone just leaves him. She cut his food into pieces and went back several times to get him whatever he needed. May God bless this woman.”

The Chick-fil-A worker in the photo has been since identified as 19-year-old Ashley Guzman, who said that this wasn’t the first time that she and her co-workers have helped the disabled man, who is a regular customer at that location.

“We help him around and get his food,” she told KIII News. “But that day I helped him. I got him his food and I went around, and I sat with him.”

Guzman was surprised to find out that someone had taken a photo of her with the man and that it had gone viral online.

“I was really surprised when I saw it and I didn’t know what to think at first, and I was really nervous because all these people were seeing it,” she said. “And you know, out of everybody, like, why was it me?”

Chick-fil-A Operations Director Melissa Tamez told KIII that the company encourages its employees to help customers who need assistance, but that Guzman’s kindness clearly went beyond what was required.

Said Tamez, “It tells us a lot about her. She has a really good heart.”
