What’s your love language? Affirming words? Quality time with your mate? Morsels of fried chicken on a petite bun?
When you’ve just got to say it with a nugget, Chick-fil-A is the place to find romance this Valentine’s Day. Through Feb. 28, the chicken-sandwich chain is selling heart-shaped tins to fill with poultry for your beloved.
Amorous Valentine’s Day revelers can choose a 30-count order of standard Chick-fil-A nuggets, 10 Chick-n-Minis sandwiches (complete with honey-butter-glazed buns), or six chocolate-chunk cookies for dessert. Or get all three — as the company’s official press release says, “you’ve got breakfast, dinner and dessert covered.” (These words alone could turn most parents into a heart-eyes emoji.)
The heartwarming offer is especially welcome this week, as the polar vortex plunges much of the United States into extreme cold. Chick-fil-A even had to call off its traditional grand-opening celebrations for two restaurants in the St. Louis area.
New Chick-fil-A locations often allow fans to line up outside before the store’s first day, getting a chance to win free food for a year. But with temperatures falling dangerously low, the company decided to nix the “campouts” and keep everyone indoors.
To avoid disappointment, make sure your local Chick-fil-A restaurant is participating in the Valentine’s Day promotion, as not all franchises may be joining the festivities.
You may also want to consult with a trusted wine aficionado to find the perfect pairing for your heart-shaped box of chicken. Is it best to serve Chick-n-Minis with a white? Would a Cabernet be too bold against the classic nugget?
On second thought, a couple of lemonades would probably do just fine.
