Chick-Fil-A Is Testing Out Family Style Meals With Two New Side Options

Chick-fil-A may be your first stop when you’re looking for a quick, delicious bite to eat, but now that Chick-fil-A is testing out “Family Style Meals” you may be hitting up the fast food chain on your way home from work a little more often.

The meals will contain a chicken dish (of course), mini rolls and two side options.

For the main dish, you can choose from 30 chicken nuggets, 12 chicken strips or four chicken breasts (grilled or fried).

As far as side options go, there’s the all-new bacon baked beans, a fruit bowl, a new mac and cheese option and a salad or a superfood side (kale and broccolini with dried cherries, nuts and a maple-vinaigrette dressing).

Oh yeah, and don’t forget the rolls that complete the meal.

The meal options start at just $29.99 and are designed to feed four people.

Plates, utensils and condiments are also included, so they really are taking the guesswork out of dinner.

“Our customers told us that they wanted an even more convenient way to share meals at home or on the go, so we worked directly with a group of parents to design every part of Family Style Meals—down to the cutlery caddy that features five unique conversation starter questions to help customers connect over mealtime,” Matt Abercrombie, manager of menu development at Chick-fil-A, said in a press release. “Mealtime should be an enjoyable experience that brings family and friends together, not an extra stress in the day.”

But, before you start thinking about serving this as dinner tonight, it’s important to note that this hasn’t been rolled out nationwide. Not just yet.

The chain made this available in three locations on July 17. Greensboro, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona and San Antonio, Texas will be the first cities to have access to these meals until Nov. 18.

Then, their customer feedback will play a large role in deciding if these dinners will become available nationwide.

If you live in or near one of these cities, this is certainly exciting news. Especially since there’s supposedly no added wait time for these larger meals. You can still easily order them inside or from drive-thru. And when you’re done, dinner for your entire family is served.

This will certainly present competition for fast food establishments such as KFC and Bojangles’ who already serve family-style meal options.

For us on the receiving end, having more places serving family-sized meals certainly isn’t a bad thing!
