Chip Gaines Is Continuing This Sweet Family Tradition With Baby Crew
There’s no shortage of cuteness happening around the latest addition to Chip and Joanna Gaines’ family, baby Crew.
From their four older children gathering anxiously at the door to their mom’s hospital room when Crew was born to the adorable photos Joanna is sharing (with, of course, her sleek decor we all fell for in “Fixer Upper” in the background), fans are really loving the Gaines crew (and Crew Gaines) right now.
Joanna posted a photo that reveals a family tradition Chip has had with each of the kids since their first child, Drake, was born:

“Chip started a tradition with Drake where he wore the hospital bracelet until it fell off… looks like the tradition lives on,” she wrote.
What a sweet tradition! Considering how the Gaines family rolls, though, who knows how long that bracelet will last. In addition to all of that home-renovation work the couple is known for, Chip also runs marathons.

In fact, the whole family seems to stay pretty active.
Just look at this photo of the four elder Gaines kids on what Chip likes to call his favorite day, demolition day:

How long will it be before baby Crew is swinging a sledgehammer into a wall? In the meantime, his big sisters are already taking him out “stargazing.”

We think they might even start some new family traditions.
Of course, you might have noticed that there’s a big age gap between new baby Crew and his siblings, and 13 years between the oldest and youngest. It’s proving to be an interesting experience for the family.
“We think about things like when Emmie goes off to college this little one will only be 10,” Joanna told People magazine before Crew was born. “It’s just crazy to think how wide that gap is, but Chip just loves hanging out with the kids and it’s just such a sweet thing.”
The mom of five recently turned 40, and since it’s been eight years since she was last pregnant, the experience feels much different this time around.
“Since it’s been over eight years since I was pregnant with Emmie Kay, I joke with my friends that it feels like it’s my first time being pregnant. The best thing about all of this is the excitement that my kids have shown for their new baby brother,” Joanna wrote on the Magnolia blog after announcing her pregnancy. “Since I had our first four babies so close to one another, none of them actually remember me being pregnant. They love my growing belly (and boy is it growing), and they cannot wait to meet him.”
