Chip Gaines Ran A Half Marathon with Baby Crew

Have you ever seen anything more adorable? Chip Gaines completed the Silo District Half Marathon with his youngest son, Crew, by his side. Technically, the 10-month-old was in front of him, being pushed in a stroller — but still. He was there to support his dad the entire time, and it just doesn’t get any cuter.

Baby Crew couldn’t have looked more content to be taking part in the race, either. Just look at him waving to everyone who was there to cheer them on in this post from his dad’s Instagram:

The Silo District Marathon was started by Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia company as a way to encourage all those who’ve always wanted to run a marathon, as well as raise money for a good cause — in this case, the Brave Like Gabe Foundation, which supports rare-cancer research.

This is the second year Chip has participated in the race.

Last year, he ran the full marathon and encouraged others to join him, taking his own advice from a book he wrote:

Getting started is equally as triumphant as crossing the finish line. Your goal is too far off to have a straight line of sight to it, but I’m going to need you to keep it firmly fixed in your mind’s eye. The only way this is going to work, the only way that you’re gonna get there, is one foot in front of the other. You have to keep moving forward. And when you think you are about to die — trust me, it’s just a tiny bit further.

Ahead of the race, he talked about his preparation on Instagram, sharing a photo of the T-shirt he wore during the run and his other necessary supplies:

“Alright y’all!! This is what I’m bringing. What stuff you got in your #siloDistrictMarathon pack?” he wrote.

He also added, “Win or Lose here’s to all the personal records, all the personal bests. All the nice try’s [sic], and we’ll get em next year. But most importantly, here’s to all the folks that can’t be here today because they’re having to focus all their energy on their personal battles with cancer.”

While Joanna didn’t participate in the race, she was there to cheer on her family — not only did Chip and Crew participate, but so did their daughter Ella — every step of the way.

Ahead of the race, she shared the below image of the starting line of the marathon. “Race weekend is finally here and we are ready! To all the runners and families- Welcome to town!” she wrote, also adding the hashtag, #silosdistrictmarathon.

It was an emotional day for the proud mom, as she shared in another post on Instagram. She wrote, “Watching the grit, the fight, and the spirit of these runners left me speechless. So many of you would tell me who you were running in honor of and I was literally teary eyed the entire time.”

during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on November 5, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She continued, “I was also so proud of @chipgaines and Ella (and baby Crew) for running the half marathon today and killing it.”

All in all, the marathon raised $300,000 for cancer research, so the Gaines family and everyone who participated certainly has a lot to be proud of after completing this race.

Before you know it, baby Crew will be big enough to run the race all by himself. In the meantime, we’ll cherish these photos of him and the tiny sweatband around his head.

And those weren’t the only adorable images the famous TV couple shared of their baby boy. On the same day as the marathon, Joanna posted this image of Crew in his stroller:

Taking a stroll through the roses but he’s more impressed with his toe,” she wrote.

A day after the marathon, Chip also shared this sweet picture of little Crew sleeping:

“So we FINALLY saw #AvengersEndgame.. not sure if we left the theater with Crew or Thanos Jr?” he wrote in the caption alongside the image.

Though he just finished running this year’s race, Chip is already counting down the days until next year’s marathon, as he shared on Twitter.

“Only 363 days till next years ! My challenge to all the sore bodies out there is: Dont [sic] forget about the pavement—its [sic] there when u need a friend, or a prayer, or to blow off steam,” he wrote.

Here’s to plenty more successful ventures from the Gaines’ family — and hopefully, a lot more photos of their adorable family!
