Are Chip and Joanna Gaines planning for another baby?

Discovery

In September, HGTV fans received the sad news that season five of the hit show “Fixer Upper” would be the last. The show features husband-and-wife duo Chip and Joanna Gaines remodeling homes throughout central Texas. Their decision, in part, was motivated to spend more time with their four children, Drake, 12, Ella, 10, Duke, 9 and Emmie Kay, 7.

“They’re so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood,”Joanna told People in September. “Family is the most important thing in the world.”

Now, the word is that the couple may add a few more kids to the mix, at least if Chip has a say in the matter.

“We had four babies right before the show started, and then we’ve had zero babies since the show started,” Chip told KTRK. “For me, I’m really excited to go back and try to maybe . . . try to make some more babies.”

For her part, Joanna is a little less certain about growing their family. “Maybe,” Joanna said. “We have different answers.”

However, just a few months ago, Joanna was the one contemplating having another baby, claiming Chip was putting the breaks on the idea.

“I would love another baby — or twins! The kids are always asking me, ‘Mom, can you have another baby?’ But Chip thinks we’re done,” she told People back in June.

While the question of more kids may still be up in the air, one thing these two can confirm is that while their success has challenged their marriage, they remain committed to each other and their family.

“I give them a little credence,” Chip said in an appearance on Today, referring to widespread rumors that the two were facing marital problems. “For us, the most important thing in the world is Jo and I’s relationship followed very quickly by these four beautiful kids. We didn’t want to push it, redline it for so long that we woke up and realized we are at a point of no return. We wanted to take a step back and focus on the thing that was absolutely the most important thing to us in the world.”

Whatever these two decide, we’re sure they’ll keep busy. Despite their show ending, Chip and Joanna will still be hard at work on their booming business, Magnolia, which includes multiple product lines. Magnolia includes a real estate company, a retail store, a quarterly magazine, vacation rentals as well as an upcoming restaurant.

They also are launching Hearth and Hand, a new home decor line sold exclusively at Target.
