Chipotle Closing It’s Doors Feb 8th To Address Food Safety In Company-Wide Meeting

If you haven’t seen it on the news, now you know. Chipotle has announced it will close it’s doors for a few hours on February 8th for a national company-wide meeting to address the E.coli outbreak and other health incidents that have plagued its stores since July 2015.

So depending on the time of the meeting, if you’re a frequent Chipotle consumer, know that your store could possibly *gasp* be closed during lunch time.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Chipotle Executives have met to discuss the October 2015 crisis. If you recall, nine states were affected, 53 people overall.

Fortunately there have been no reported deaths as a result of the outbreak, and all parties are taking this mishap very seriously to avoid this happening ever again.

The Chicago Tribune reports this was shared in an email from Chris Arnold, Chipotle’s spokesperson:

“We want to thank our teams for all of their hard work, to discuss some of the changes we are making to enhance food safety, to talk about the restaurants role in all of that and to answer questions from employees.”
