U.S. Olympian Chloe Kim said she was ‘hangry’ just before her gold medal win
U.S. Olympian Chloe Kim is literally taking women’s snowboarding to new heights. She made her Olympic debut favored to win gold at PyeongChang and surpassed the lofty expectations. Her fearless riding and goofy personality combine for truly epic halfpipe runs.
It came as no surprise that she added a few more titles and broke records in PyeongChang. Now a gold medalist, she made history with back-to-back 1080s in her final halfpipe run. That’s not all—at 17, she is the youngest-ever gold medalist in the halfpipe event.
If you haven’t seen Kim in action, take a look at the video below:

Even Olympians Get ‘Hangry’
One title we didn’t expect this young superstar to win: most relatable. However, she managed to earn that one, too. Before she took her final run and victory lap in the pipe, she sent out a funny—and totally relatable—tweet.
“Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich but my stubborn self decided not to and now I’m getting hangry,” Kim wrote.

We’ve all been there—stomach growling and dreaming of a snack. But “hangry” or not, it didn’t hold Kim back. Her final run was near-perfect. She wowed the crowd and earned a 98.25.
Perhaps keeping her mind off the dizzying tricks she was setting up to perform helped her loosen up. It’s no easy feat sailing out of the pipe, hitting record-breaking tricks and stomping landings over and over again, so a clear mind is key (or one focused on food, as the case may have been with Kim).
But that’s not all. Mid competition she also learned that her grandmother traveled from Seoul to watch her ride. As a result, she dedicated her final run to her.
“This one’s for grams,” Kim said in a news conference.
Training Diet
Kim shows us over and over what it really takes to win gold, down to every last snack. She’s has been tweeting about all her cravings in PyeongChang. On Sunday, she shared that she had eaten churros and that they helped calm her nerves.
Oh and I also had 2 churros today and they were pretty bomb so if you ever get nervous go eat a churro

During the preliminary round of halfpipe competition earlier this week, Kim took to twitter and screamed for ice cream.
Could be down for some ice cream rn

While she was training for the Olympics, she turned to pizza.

Convenience is key for Kim, so she made sure burritos were never more than a click away.
