Chocolate pudding pie is made with red wine and it looks irresistible

Show Me the Yummy

Would you like to eat your dessert and drink it too? Thanks to this red wine chocolate pudding pie from Show Me The Yummy, now you can.

This decadent pie is made with 3/4 of a cup of red wine, which makes for a moist and rich pie that’s sure to impress. It’s certainly elegant enough to serve on a holiday, but you also don’t need a special occasion to whip up this dessert that’s deceptively simple to make.

The bloggers behind Show Me The Yummy used Barefoot Merlot, which is described as “the perfect combo of cherry, boysenberry, plum and chocolate. A mocha finish is complemented by hints of smoky vanilla oak.”

The pie features a graham cracker crust, which comes together with just three simple ingredients — graham crackers, butter and brown sugar.

To make it extra-pretty, top it with drizzles of chocolate syrup, whipped cream, cherries and shaved chocolate. Although it comes together very quickly, it needs to chill for about six hours to set completely.

Now that is one pretty pie! In addition to wine, the pie also is made with instant coffee, which will really bring out the mocha notes in the wine.

Although the recipe calls for merlot, I think you could experiment with other varieties of red wine as well. This recipe for boozy blueberry and cherry red wine pie from Eat the Love is made with vodka in the crust in addition to red wine for the filling.
