Chris Hemsworth gave a hitchhiker a ride in a helicopter
Hitchikers generally can’t be picky about who they’ll take a ride from. So, it must have been Scott Hildebrand’s lucky day when he was hitchhiking in Australia and was offered a ride by none other than “Avengers” star Chris Hemsworth.
Hildebrand, an American musician, was hitching on the side of the road in Brisbane when Hemsworth and his friend, Luke Zocchi, arrived and decided to give him a lift via helicopter. The whole gang was headed to Byron Bay, so it worked out perfectly.
In a video posted to Hemsworth’s Instagram page, Hildebrand seems absolutely shocked and delighted when he learns that he will be taking a ride in a chopper with Hemsworth and Zocchi to reach their destination.

“Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn’t a serial killer which we were stoked about and just happened to be a kick ass musician Scott Hildebrand @scotthilde #WelcomeToAustralia @australia @zocobodpro,” Hemsworth captioned his video.
“The experience was so cool and unexpected,” Hildebrand told E! News. “They’re so nice and I couldn’t believe it was happening.”
Although Hildebrand did not immediately recognize the actor, he was impressed with the hospitality he was shown by both Hemsworth and Zocchi. And for those who doubt the video’s authenticity or think it may have been a set-up, Hildebrand insists it really was a serendipitous event.
“It was completely real as I had just gotten back from Mexico and decided to hitchhike back to Byron as it was cheaper than taking the bus,” Hildebrand explained to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. “It was like 50 bucks to get the bus, so I thought I would try hitchhiking as it was early in the morning. Within 15 minutes the guys came up and said they were going to Byron.”
We’re guessing that whoever Hildebrand picks up a ride from next, it will be hard to top Hemsworth!
