Chrissy Teigen Celebrates Her Baby Miles Being Done With His Helmet

It was a big day for baby Miles, and his proud mom couldn’t wait to celebrate. Chrissy Teigen took to Twitter to share the news that her 9-month-old son had “graduated” from wearing his head-shaping helmet, as she proudly declared, “No more helmet! No more helmet!” in a video.

Teigen also noted that Miles had been “such a trooper” throughout the three-month process in her Twitter announcement. Clearly, the mom is excited for her little one, but Miles doesn’t seem overjoyed, necessarily. He’s just loving life — with or without the helmet — and looking adorable all the while:

The mom first shared the news that Miles would have to wear a helmet to help shape his “flat” head on Twitter back in December writing, “baby miles getting fitted for a little helmet today for his adorable slightly misshapen head. so if you see pictures, don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat and honestly he’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow”:

She certainly was right about him looking absolutely adorable, as you can see in the photos Teigen shared of sweet little Miles in his helmet on Instagram:

Shortly after the helmet made its Instagram debut, it got an upgrade. Teigen and her husband John Legend decorated the helmet with bears to make the headgear even cuter for their son:

Miles didn’t seem to mind wearing his helmet one bit, as he was still able to roll around and play freely:

Miles wore the helmet for a common condition called plagiocephaly in which the soft plates of a baby’s skull, which are easily shaped at that age, are flattened by sleeping on their backs, according to Healthline.

“Lying on the back is the recommended safe sleeping position from the American Academy of Pediatrics, so positional plagiocephaly isn’t uncommon,” Healthline explains.

Plagiocephaly isn’t painful, and helmets are often used as treatment for babies around six to eight months, especially when other forms of treatment haven’t helped.

The helmet treatment is so common that there’s even a market for helmet decorating services that make incorporating a helmet into your child’s everyday life even more fun.

The bear stickers were all Miles needed to make his helmet extra precious, but parents definitely have options. And while Teigen’s son was totally cute with his helmet, we’re also happy that now he gets to celebrate his graduation after just three short months.
