Chrissy Teigen revealed the sex of her second baby with John Legend

On Instagram last night, model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen shared the sweetest post about the baby she’s expecting with husband John Legend. Sharing a picture of herself—looking radiant with her growing baby bump—on the Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday night, Teigen revealed her second baby’s sex.

The big reveal was in the photo caption, so if you were so dazzled by Teigen’s shimmery silver dress, you may have missed it.

“Mama and her baby boy,” Teigen wrote on Instagram, confirming that she and Legend are indeed expecting a son.

Throughout her first pregnancy, Teigen was very open about her experience with in vitro fertilization, and she recently shared that she and Legend underwent the same process for their second baby.

“We did the harvesting—as they call it—again, where they make the embryos,” she told People earlier this month.

Teigen’s recent announcement that she’s having a boy might not be too much of a surprise for fans, since she previously revealed that the only embryo the couple had left was male. At the Producers Guild of America Awards in January 2017, Teigen told ET that “a little boy is next, for sure,” as the couple had “a boy on ice,” referring to the frozen embryo.

When people criticized Teigen for choosing the sex of her baby—commentary Teigen grew used to during her first pregnancy with her daughter—she set the record straight on Twitter: “Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah.”

While fans may have had a bit of a hint as to the sex of Teigen’s baby, the confirmation was still well worth the wait. The announcement garnered plenty of attention on Instagram, with many fans offering congratulations in the comments.

Teigen and Legend’s baby boy will be joining big sister, Luna Simone, who will turn 2 years old in April.
