Christina Aguilera and Melissa McCarthy team up for ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The Late Late Show with James Corden/YouTube

James Corden’s segment of “Carpool Karaoke” on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” is always amazing. But now that Christina Aguilera just joined the show host for a car-singing session, things have just reached a whole other level.

The powerhouse vocalist wasn’t alone in the car, either! After jamming to “Fighter,” Melissa McCarthy popped up in the backseat to rap Redman’s lyrics in in Aguilera’s “Dirrty.” And trust us — it was a much welcomed surprise.

Aguilera sounded absolutely amazing, and even tried to teach Corden a thing or two.

“How are you doing that with your voice,” Corden asked after hearing Aguilera’s raspy vocals.

“That’s an angsty thing; you’ve got to get your fighter on,” she said as she tried to coach him through it.

Ultimately, Corden decided to leave that to Aguilera — which was a good choice. See the insane vocal capabilities of Aguilera in the video below:

It was incredible to see McCarthy and Aguilera together with Corden, jamming to some of Aguilera’s biggest hits, and that’s why fans couldn’t help but chime in on Twitter:

Actress Laverne Cox said this video was “everything [she] needed.”

As Twitter user @jpear02 pointed out, from Corden bringing these women together to McCarthy’s outfit, there was nothing not to love about this:

It’s no surprise that people are so in love with this musical performance. McCarthy and Aguilera have such great chemistry.

In fact, they recently worked together on the forthcoming film “Life of the Party” and, as is evidenced by this short segment, they truly are the life of the party.

The movie comes out on May 11. McCarthy plays the lead and Aguilera has a cameo. Aguilera also has a new song that was written specifically for the movie. Be sure to check it out next month!

In the meantime, here’s a trailer:

So, is this your favorite segment of “Carpool Karaoke” yet?

Christina Aguilera Ditches Makeup For Magazine Cover

Aguilera also recently made headlines for rocking a no-makeup look on the cover of a magazine.

In one of the newest issues of Paper magazine, Aguilera toned down her signature look–and we must say, she is stunning.

The cover also is printed with the word “Transformation,” but this is less of a transformation and more of a returning to self for the artist. Aguilera admits in an interview with Paper magazine that for this “transformation,” she’s stripping it all back.

“I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”

You’ll notice she’s also wearing a prominent “Mom” ring in the gorgeous cover shot. Aguilera is the mother of two children, Max Liron and Summer Rain!
