A Cirque Du Soleil Theme Park Is In The Works

There will be nothing dull about this theme park!

In the coming years, you might find yourself skipping Disney for a new theme park. Let us be the first to tell you about the new Cirque du Soleil theme park opening in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

Set to open in 2018, “The Park,” is being constructed by two companies. Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta, a developer of world class resorts in Mexico, are coming together to construct the immersive themed park.

“Grupo Vidanta is offering us an amazing sandbox in which we can unleash our creativity,” said Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil.

If you have ever experienced Cirque du Soleil, the theatrical circus style show probably left you wanting more. Each show is an enchanting, visual feast—and that’s what the company is going for with this theme park. Cirque de Soleil partnered with Vidanta to launch Joya, an interactive restaurant in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, earlier this year.

Even though information on what the theme park will include is hush-hush, there are a few things we do know will be included:

  • The Park will be a mixture of Cirque du Soleil entertainment and a luxury resort experience.
  • Included in all the fun will be three hotels with interactive theaters, hydrotherapy circuits for adults and loads of entertainment.
  • This theme park will be all about nature. Thrillist reports that the concept of the park is meant for it to look like it “sprouted up from the ground,” which means there will be a lot of green spaces—and probably quite a few recycling bins!

This sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it? Start saving so you can make a visit to the Cirque du Soleil theme park in Mexico in 2018. Hopefully the lines won’t be too long, but given what we know about Cirque de Soleil, we imagine there will be some fantastic entertainment to watch while you wait.
