This Clever Instagrammer Dressed As A Different Character Every Day For A Year
Instagram is a great platform to express your creativity, and Phi Phi O’Hara’s Insta game is next level. O’Hara, who was one of the contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race, posted snaps of herself dressed as a different 1990s cartoon character every day for a year.
The epic project was titled “365 Days of Drag.” We don’t know which is more impressive: O’Hara’s creative costumes or her stunning makeup skills. Since completing this project she’s gained quite a following—323,000 people on Instagram to be exact.
Some of the highlights of O’Hara’s 365 photos include recreations of iconic cartoon characters from the 1990s. Here are some of our favorites!
You may remember Daria, the smart yet sensitive teenage character in the animated TV series that first aired on MTV in 1997.
Another fan favorite was O’Hara’s recreation of the Powerpuff Girls, a cartoon that aired on Cartoon Network. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup were the three main Powerpuff Girls, and you’ll see that O’ Hara really captured their looks.
Then there’s the recreation of Oblina of Aaahh!!! “Real Monsters.”
And what would recreating 1990s cartoon characters be without including the famous characters from the TV series “Rugrats“?
At the end of her year-long photo project, O’Hara wrote on her Facebook page last month:
I actually cried happy tears last night because it was such an exhausting and difficult task that I did and gave 100% all of me. I am proud of me, and that is an awesome feeling. So happy you and everyone loved it! Now I will go to sleep in 2017 haha.
