This Clever Young Man Delivers His Resume Inside A Box Of Donuts

Landing a job can be easier said than done, especially for young professionals. Finding a way to make yourself stand out from the crowd is key. That’s exactly what 25-year-old Lukas Yla has done, in a most delicious way.

As Thrillist reports, Yla has been delivering his resume to companies in San Francisco inside of a box of donuts. If that isn’t the smartest thing you’ve ever heard, I don’t know what is! And, he takes it a step further than that— he poses as the delivery guy, too.

Essentially, he’s hand-delivering his resume to companies who probably wouldn’t normally accept that kind of a handout. Thanks to his clever disguise, he’s helping to ensure recruiters see his resume and enjoy a tasty treat at the same time.

In addition to some delicious-looking donuts, Yla includes a cover letter and resume inside each box, so there are no questions left unanswered for the recipients besides perhaps, “When can we hire him?” Probably after that box of donuts is polished off, of course!

This creative approach to job-hunting really seems to be getting a great response so far. Yla told Thrillist via email, “I had 10 interviews so far and I haven’t delivered donuts to all the companies I admire and love what they’re doing yet. Recruiters, marketing pros and people in general love this kind of approach, it’s something you didn’t expect, fun and out of the box.”

As he said, this approach has already gotten him 10 interviews. So, the results are in: People love donuts, and if they can fill an open position while enjoying a dough filled with jelly, even better!

Folks everywhere who are looking for a job can learn a thing or two from Yla. A little creativity goes a long way. And if there’s a way to include dessert in your outreach, that probably won’t hurt either.
