Last month, we received the sad news that Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington, took his own life. Since his tragic and untimely death, there has been an outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians alike. Linkin Park has now set up a dedicated website where mourners can share their grief and tributes to the late singer.

On Aug. 1, Coldplay paid tribute to Bennington with a cover of the Linkin Park song “Crawling” at their concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Coldplay’s Chris Martin seemed intent on making his rendition perfect, telling the crowd, “I know this is probably going to end up on YouTube so I want to do it right.” Martin dedicated the song to “anyone who’s missing someone.”

The touching performance did, indeed, end up on YouTube. Check out  the video below:

Coldplay is not the only band that is remembering Bennington by covering his music. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who was set to tour as the special guest on Linkin Park’s now-cancelled “One More Light” tour, recorded a cover of the band’s song “Numb.” He then performed it live for the first time at music festival Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 6, which nearly brought him to tears. He also led the crowd in a moment of silence for his late friend. Check out footage of the touching tribute from a fan’s Instagram:

On Aug. 7, hundreds of fans gathered in Los Angeles to pay tribute to Bennington. The event also included several live performances to honor the devotees’ fallen hero. A private service was held earlier for those who knew Bennington personally, while the event in Los Angeles was a way for fans to come together to celebrate his life and work.

“He’s lyrically touched so many lives, and he as a person was such a great human being—whether it be his charity work or his love for animals,” event organizer Ashlee Kelly told ABC 7. “He is a spokesperson for the teenager growing up.”
