It’s Been Confirmed: Adele Is Officially Married To Simon Konecki!

For several months, people around the world have been speculating that singer and songwriter Adele had finally married her longtime partner, Simon Konecki. This past weekend, she finally confirmed all of our suspicions during a concert in Brisbane, Australia.

The 28-year-old British pop star shared the news with concertgoers shortly before launching into her 2011 breakthrough hit,  “Somebody Like You.”

“I was trying to remember how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record,” Adele said. “Because as bad as a breakup can be and as bitter and horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth, and I am addicted to that feeling. Obviously, I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now.”

Official announcement aside, we’ve always known that Adele and Konecki, 42, were crazy for each other. The couple, who have a 4-year-old son together, have been dating since 2011. But until this announcement, Adele hadn’t publicly addressed the updated status of their relationship.

Still, speculation has been growing since last month, when Adele slipped up during her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. “Grammy’s, I appreciate it, the Academy, I love you, my manager, my husband, and my son—you’re the only reason I do it,” she said during the emotional speech.

But shortly after the show, Adele switched up the terminology she had used during her acceptance speech and began to once again refer to Konecki as her “partner.”

Still, it wasn’t too long after the Grammy Awards slip-up that Konecki was spotted sporting a gold band on his ring finger during the Brit Awards this past February.

Regardless, we’re just happy the news is out and open to the public. The guess is that the happy couple tied the knot around Christmas time but, again, that’s all just speculation.
