Cool Whip now makes a birthday cake flavor and it sounds delicious

One year after debuting Oreo-flavored Cool Whip, the geniuses at Kraft have done it again. This time, they’ve come up with a Cool Whip flavor that sounds even more delicious — so much so that we’ll likely end up eating it straight from the tub with a spoon.

Cool Whip Mix-Ins Birthday Cake with Rainbow Sprinkles, a whipped topping that tastes like a pillowy cloud of birthday cake yumminess with light, crunchy sprinkles, is now in stock in the freezer section at grocery stores like Walmart, Shop Rite, Publix and Schnucks. And according to one Instagram user, @whateverjusteatit, who rated it ten stars: “It really does taste like cake.”

Check out the topping’s millennial pink color in the photo below. It looks so much like ice cream!

Other reviews for Cool Whip Birthday Cake have been equally enthusiastic. Over at JunkBanter.com, for example, a reviewer comments on the subtle, yet still distinctly cake-like, flavor.

“While there are no cake pieces in Cool Whip Mix-Ins Birthday Cake, Kraft Heinz did a remarkable job emulating a buttercream flavor!” they write. “Without being too sweet, the Cool Whip has a very strong, creamy frosting flavor reminiscent of the stuff on any good birthday cake.”

Although the Birthday Cake flavor can be used as a topping for desserts such as pies, brownies and fruit, you can also incorporate the Cool Whip into an ice cream sundae or even double down on the birthday cake and sprinkles flavor by putting it on top of an actual birthday cake with sprinkles.

Best of all, as with regular Cool Whip, it’s low in calories. A two-tablespoon serving only has 25 calories, so you could just eat it right out of the tub with a spoon for a low-guilt dessert.

Are you excited to try this new flavor of Cool Whip?
