Costco is now serving acai bowls for just $5

Costco is a great place to pick up those groceries you need to buy in bulk — and thanks to the food court, it’s also a great place to stop in for a snack. Grocery shopping causes folks to work up quite the appetite, after all! And now Costco is offering a healthy alternative to their delicious food court pizza with the recent addition of $5 acai bowls.

The bowls contain a blended acai fruit base and are topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries along with granola and banana chips. Yum!

Costco customers have been posting about the acai bowls online, and from the looks of it, they rival other smoothie bowls you’ll see while scrolling through your Instagram feed.

The chealseaeatshawaii Instagram account gave a great look at the acai bowl in all of its glory:

The photo also came with a mini review:

“I was pleasantly surprised Costco used fresh strawberries and blueberries . . . and lots of it. I was totally expecting a frozen fruit situation, like McDonald’s yogurt parfait. I also really liked the granola and banana chip mix,” the caption read.

The only thing that wasn’t so great was the texture, which is more like soft serve than a blended smoothie, per se.

According to the Aloha Hawaii Island YouTube channel, the bowl is dairy-free, so if you were concerned about dairy, now there’s a cool, sweet treat for you at Costco. Just watch out for brain freezes!

Will you be grabbing one of these on your next trip to Costco?
