Adorable crochet reindeer would make a great holiday gift

Looking for a way to give something special this year without dealing with all the shopping madness? How about making something that can become a cherished part of a friend or family member’s holiday collection? Now might be the perfect time to get out those crochet hooks and some yarn to make some holiday amigurumi.

Amigurumi is a Japanese tradition of knitting or crocheting small stuffed yarn creatures. We’ve seen a wide variety of amigurumi creations, including Baby Yoda and even the Golden Girls.

However, when we came across Milo the Reindeer on Etsy, we think we found the perfect holiday crochet project.

Wouldn’t this little guy — or a whole herd of them — look absolutely charming on a tree, in a Christmas stocking as a toy or as part of a larger holiday display?

Etsy shop One and Two Company created the pattern for Milo the Reindeer. When you purchase the pattern for $5.50, you’ll get an instant download. You will need to pick up the yarn and any other supplies you need to make Milo and spend a little time bringing him to life.

The crochet pattern comes in five different languages — English, German, Dutch, Spanish and French. The pattern directions are also written out clearly in American English crochet terms. This makes it easy for even beginner crocheters to follow.

You can decide on your reindeer design by selecting different yarn colors and different sizes for each animal.

You can make a herd of these tiny reindeer in a variety of sizes, according to the seller. The smallest reindeer measures 5.9 inches tall, the medium one is 8.2 inches tall, and the tallest reindeer stands at 12.6 inches tall. Each size uses a different type of yarn: sport yarn for the smallest, worsted weight yarn for the medium reindeer and super chunky for the large version.

The pattern is listed as appropriate for easy to intermediate crafters and can be stitched up pretty quickly. Once you download your pattern and have your supplies, you can whip a few of them up in plenty of time to give as handmade gifts that everyone will love.
