Pecan Cookie Balls Are The Perfect Blend of Crunchy And Sweet

McCormick

If you’re hosting a gathering or attending a party (or just hanging out on your couch), you’re going to want to have a dessert on hand.

These pecan cookie balls are just the kind of treat you’ll need to close the year because they’re the perfect blend of crunchy and sweet. They’re obviously ideal for the Christmas season — but we think they’re yummy enough to enjoy all year long!

This recipe from McCormick will walk you through the steps to make a batch of 24 cookies. You’ll need butter, vanilla extract, nutmeg, salt, flour, pecans and plenty of confectioner’s sugar for the topping.

Once the dough’s been mixed, roll it into 1-inch balls and bake for 15 minutes.

Then, before the cookies have had time to cool, roll each one in the confectioner’s sugar. After they’ve cooled down, you’ll repeat this step.

When you’re through, you’ll have a batch of crunchy pecan cookies coated in layers of sugar.

Does it get better than that?

If you’re looking to make the baking process even easier, there’s also this version from I Wash You Dry that only requires four ingredients.

Flour, pecans, butter and sugar are all that’s needed to make the dough.

This recipe also suggests skipping the confectioner’s sugar to instead top the balls with melted chocolate morsels.

In the end, you’re left with another great option for a decadent cookie.

If you happen to have a bit of time on your hands, you may want to try this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction, which involves a couple of extra steps, but is well worth the effort.

The recipe suggests toasting the pecans before adding them into the batter to really accentuate their nutty flavor.

Another helpful step: Refrigerating the cookie dough to avoid any excess spreading of the dough when you pop these into the oven.

Oh, and this recipe also offers the option of adding in sprinkles for fun.

For some more roly-poly, sugar-dusted cookie confection inspiration, look to this recipe for Russian tea cakes (also known as Mexican wedding cookies or simply snowballs) from Betty Crocker.

These cookies are similar to shortbread and they’re a cinch to make.

Plus, you can incorporate an array of nuts, including macadamia, cashew, hazelnut, pecans or black walnuts.

As the name implies, these cookies are great when served alongside a cup of tea, so serve these tasty treats as part of a proper afternoon tea time with friends.
