Dairy Queen is bringing back its beloved butterscotch-dipped cones this fall

There’s no shortage of new foods this fall, but while most are pumpkin, Dairy Queen is giving us something different. While their beloved pumpkin pie blizzards are of course back on the menu, they’ve also added a new dipped cone flavor: butterscotch!

The Butterscotch Dipped Cone has been on menus before, but only in a few locations, so you may not have seen it. Once it was taken off the menu, however, a petition began circulating among fans who had been lucky enough to try it, and who were desperate for its return.

There’s no saying whether it was, in fact, the petition that brought about this tasty treat’s return but, either way, the flavor is now at participating locations nationwide just in time for cooler weather. While the cone is filled with Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve, the whole thing is then dipped in a crunchy butterscotch coating. It joins the chocolate-dipped cone on our list of dipped DQ favorites and follows a Dreamsicle flavor they released for a limited time last spring.

If you don’t have a Dairy Queen near you, Smucker’s makes butterscotch-flavored ice cream syrup you can buy at grocery stores nationwide so you can create your own butterscotch-flavored ice cream treat right at home.

Meanwhile, DQ’s butterscotch-dipped cone also joins another new Dairy Queen treat, a Cinnamon Roll Shake made with real milk, vanilla soft serve ice cream and whipped topping.

The drink has been on the menu for a little bit already, so people have already tried it. Twitter user @thewrll says that anyone who likes horchata (a rice drink made with milk and cinnamon), would like the cinnamon roll shake.

If pumpkin pie, butterscotch and cinnamon roll aren’t your flavors, believe it or not, Dairy Queen still has something for you this fall! Just as with the other treats, their Harvest Berry Pie Blizzard  — made with raspberries, blackberries and blueberries — is also available for a limited time.
