Dairy Queen’s peppermint hot cocoa Blizzard is back for the holidays

The holiday season is officially here. For some, that means Hallmark movies 24/7. Others set about trying to find the ugliest sweater they can. But for me, it means it’s finally time to enjoy hot chocolate and peppermint-flavored everything.

From pie and cookies to ice cream, there is clearly no shortage of delicious goodies this time of year, and that includes at Dairy Queen, which is bringing back the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard just in time for the winter season.

The blizzard, which was brand new to Dairy Queen’s menu last year, blends rich cocoa fudge, choco chunks and candy cane pieces with creamy DQ soft serve vanilla ice cream. It’s then topped with whipped cream because, obviously, hot chocolate is simply better that way. This frozen treat is available at participating DQ locations nationwide in mini, small, medium and large.

If peppermint isn’t your thing, or if you’ve already had enough of it this season, DQ has another seasonal treat you might prefer: a Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard.

Crafted with snickerdoodle cookie dough pieces sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and blended with vanilla soft serve, you can find it on DQ menus throughout the holidays.

Dairy Queen is also bringing back a seasonal drink this year for those who prefer to sip their desserts. Their Frozen Hot Chocolate is officially back on the menu after being requested by fans.

The drink blends rich cocoa fudge with vanilla soft serve ice cream and is then garnished with whipped topping and a chocolate drizzle. It is available in small, medium or large for a limited time.

If you were lucky enough to try last year’s winter seasonal treat — an Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard — and still have a craving, you can order an Oreo Blizzard year-round and add your own hot fudge sauce to recreate it. Other limited-time ice cream offerings on their menu include a Choco-dipped Strawberry Blizzard, Brownie Dough Blizzard and Oreo Mocha Fudge Blizzard.

Will you be trying Dairy Queen’s Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard or any other seasonal treats this holiday season?
