Attention, toots! There is a new “Daniel Tiger” movie available for you and your little ones to enjoy, and it features a brand new character who will also star in several new “Daniel Tiger” episodes.

Her name is Jodi Platypus, and she and her family have moved into Daniel’s Neighborhood Of Make-Believe. Three-year-old Jodi is a bit apprehensive at the beginning, but Daniel and his friends soon show her what community spirit is all about.

“She’s shy at first,” said Chris Loggins, producer at Fred Rogers Productions. “But she likes to tell stories and she’s very resourceful. She has this little pocket and she stores crayons and always seems to have the right things in there when people need them. I think people are going to fall in love with her just like we did.”

“The Daniel Tiger Movie: Won’t You Be Our Neighbor?” debuted on Sept. 17 on PBS KIDS, but if you missed the real-time airing, no worries. There are many ways you can watch this 60-minute film, which reviewers called “gentle and sweet” as well as “charming and emotionally intelligent.”

You can watch on PBSKIDS.org or on the PBS KIDS video app. Or you can visit the website for your local PBS channel and search its program schedule for the movie’s next airing. For example, when I did this for Wisconsin, I received two airings for this week:

Once you find out when your local PBS channel is airing “The Daniel Tiger Movie: Won’t You Be Our Neighbor?”, set your DVR to record the show. (Alternately, you can simply set your DVR to record “Daniel Tiger” programs).

You can also watch “The Daniel Tiger Movie: Won’t You Be Our Neighbor?” via Amazon, or you can get the program for free if you do a seven-day trial of PBS KIDS — just make sure you cancel before your free week is up if you don’t want to be charged!

However, adding PBS KIDS to your Amazon Prime channels for $4.99 a month is an excellent deal because you will have access to incredible and educational programs like “Daniel Tiger” right at your fingertips.
