Dennis Quaid’s Los Angeles-area home is on sale for $6.5 million

Actor Dennis Quaid is asking $6.495 million for his “old Hollywood” home on a large and private lot in the exclusive Riviera neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, just north of Santa Monica.

Quaid and his third wife, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, purchased the home in 2013 for $5.1 million. But the couple has since decided to go their separate ways, and they finalized their divorce in April. The home’s sale is reportedly a part of their divorce agreement.

The Texas-born Quaid recently sold his Austin, Texas, home for close to $3 million. He also went ahead and purchased a $3.9 million Brentwood Canyon home in late 2017.

His Pacific Palisades home has six bedrooms spread out over its 6,114 square feet. It’s ideally situated near the Riviera Country Club with its championship golf course, and the Will Rogers State Historic Park.

The Spanish-style home was built in 1929 and has lovely Spanish architectural details throughout.

An entryway rotunda welcomes you into the home.

The capacious living room is “reminiscent of the Biltmore Hotel, with leaded windows, beamed ceilings, and an immense stone fireplace,” according to The Agency, which is listing the home.

The Biltmore was built around the same time period as Quaid’s home at 13926 Sunset Boulevard. And we’d certainly feel like we were living in luxury after sinking into a plush couch in front of that large fireplace, underneath warm, wooden beams, wrought-iron details and romantic chandeliers.

Off of the living room is the large formal dining room, with its gorgeous, rainbow-hued stained glass window.

The well-appointed kitchen includes a casual eating nook.

Cooks will love the side-by-side Viking refrigerators, Wolf range and ovens, chef’s island with built-in wine fridge and ample counter space.

A curtained media room with a large HD projector and two-tier seating means you can have maximum screen time enjoyment.

A large, circular study is enhanced by stained glass windows and a Spanish-style chandelier.

The master bedroom has plenty of windows to let in natural light, plus its own lounge area.

It also has dual closets.

And not one, but two bathrooms.

A sauna enhances this bathroom’s tranquil, spa-like setting.

This spacious bedroom pictured below certainly looks like it would please young kids (and Quaid and his third wife did have 10-year-old twins, Zoe and Thomas, who lived with the couple at their L.A. home). And presumably, the en-suite playroom mentioned in the listing was a hit with the twins.

Besides the master bedroom and the room pictured above, there are two additional bedrooms upstairs, and a guest bedroom and staff quarters downstairs. And then there’s the pool.

Bamboo hedges, fruit trees and other shrubbery hide the home from Sunset Boulevard and its neighbors. So you can sit out on this upper deck and enjoy the privacy.

Or take a relaxing swim in the rectangular pool and spa.

There’s also a home gym with mirrored walls, a 10-car “motor court” and two laundry rooms.
