Documenting a pregnancy is a special part of any couple’s relationship, but unfortunately, Veronica Phillips’ husband, Brandon, has missed out on seeing her growing belly due to his deployment.
But thanks to the photographer Jennifer McMahon and Photoshop, the deployed Air Force member was able to be a part of the maternity photo shoot. And the resulting images are truly touching.
There are several photos showing off Veronica’s nine month pregnant belly, but the one image that stands out the most depicts Veronica lovingly looking at her tummy and has her husband’s hand on her tummy, too. The images come together for the sweetest use of Photoshop ever.

The photographer explained her process of combining the photos to the Huffington Post.
“I had seen many photos where people were Photoshopped in, and I have Photoshopped siblings together before to look like one seamless photo,” McMahon told the Huffington Post. “After playing around with several edits for a few days and many hours of editing, I posted the one I thought told the best story and would evoke emotion in all who saw it.”

McMahon shared the image of the couple on Facebook, and evoke emotion it did! “So beautiful & gracious,” one Facebook user wrote, echoing kind thoughts from other users.
Strangers were touched by the couple’s photo, but it means a little something extra special to the Phillips family.

“All I can say is that I miss him,” Phillips, 29, told People magazine. “I wanted to honor my husband, and even though we are a far distance from each other, we are close in this picture. It symbolizes our love and commitment from afar.”
According to the magazine, Brandon will not be home for his baby boy’s birth, but his wife is very excited for the moment he does get back home.
She told the magazine, “I can’t wait for him to meet his son.”
