A Disney Princess movie marathon is coming to theaters

If you have little kids who can’t enough of the Disney princesses (or if you love them yourself—no judgement), you’re going to want to set aside some time in September and October. That’s because movie theater chain AMC will be showing a marathon of Disney princess classics.

A different Disney princess film will run each week between Sept. 15 and Oct. 13 at 304 AMC theaters across the country. Sure, you can probably pop in a DVD or queue up the movies on Netflix any time you want, but it’s a different kind of fun to see all your favorite princesses on the big screen. Dubbed “Dream Big, Princess,” the movie marathon is guaranteed to be a memorable experience for the whole family. Check out the complete schedule for the movie marathon and purchase advance tickets here.

Here’s the list of the six movies that will be shown as part of the marathon:

1. Beauty and the Beast

You recently fell in love with the live-action remake, and now you can get your fix of the animated classic that started it all.

2. Mulan

“Mulan” ushered in a different kind of Disney princess—one who wasn’t a damsel in distress, but a girl who knew how to save herself. Girl power!

3. Tangled

This modern retelling of “Rapunzel” will take you on a magical adventure. Don’t be surprised if your little girl wants to skip her next haircut after watching this one.

4. Moana

The newest film on the list, “Moana,” was an instant classic when it premiered in 2016. The title character has everything you’re looking for in a Disney princess—beauty, brains and bravery. Plus, the animated tropical island that serves as the setting of the movie is gorgeous.

5. The Princess and the Frog

This 2009 movie packs some serious star power, with characters voiced by Oprah Winfrey, John Goodman and Terrence Howard.

6. Brave

“Brave’s” red-headed heroine, Princess Merida, uses her archery skills to reverse a terrible spell.

So did the movie with your favorite Disney princess make the list? There are some notable exceptions, including Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” (my personal favorite), Jasmine from “Aladdin” and Princess Aurora from “Sleeping Beauty”. Maybe next time!
