Disney just released a color-changing mug featuring more than 40 characters

Color changing cups and mugs are all the rage lately. Both Costco and Starbucks have sold their own versions of this trendy item this year. Now, Disney is jumping on the bandwagon.

The Disney Ink & Paint Color Change Mug sold on shopDisney.com for $13.99 is a Disney lover’s delight. This mug doesn’t just feature a few of Disney’s most popular characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Nope! You’ll find more than 40 Disney characters on this ceramic mug from the classic Walt Disney animation era of the 1930s through the 1960s.

With one quick look, we found Disney princesses like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, the Evil Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” Tinkerbell and Sorcerer Mickey. You’ll also find Br’er Fox and Br’er Rabbit, who have been the subject of a lot of chatter among Disney fans lately with word of the pending refurbishment of Splash Mountain at Disney theme parks.

But the best part of this mug is the magical color transformation it makes when you pour in a hot cup of coffee or other beverage. Your eyes are not deceiving you if you notice something different about your mug. As the cup heats up, it slowly starts to change color.

You may think it’s the caffeine kicking in first thing in the morning, but it’s just a little Disney magic! When the transformation is complete, the characters are showing their true colors.

The Disney Ink & Paint Color Change Mug measures 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. It holds about 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. You will need to hand wash your special mug when you’re done because it’s not dishwasher safe. And keep it out of the microwave, too. Warm up those beverages before you pour them into the cup!

Like the other color-changing cups on the market, these keep selling out quickly. But if you want to ensure you snag one for a coveted spot in your kitchen, you can always add it to your personal wish list on shopDisney.com and find out when it’s back in stock.
