Lumiere, cue the music, because “it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure” that we proudly present: your dessert. You’ve seen the movie, you know the song, now’s your chance to try the grey stuff. Spoiler: It’s delicious.

Disney just shared the recipe for an at-home version of the famed “grey stuff” dessert, served at Be Our Guest, the uber-popular “Beauty and the Beast”-themed restaurant at Walt Disney World.

This simple, no-bake recipe was inspired by the restaurant version and has been modified by Disney chefs for you to make at home. All you need to put this together is seven simple ingredients.

First, whisk together a cup and a half of milk and a packet of vanilla pudding mix, then leave them to set in the fridge for an hour or two. Once the pudding is firm, puree 15 chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos or similar) in a food processor, then fold them into the pudding. Add an 8-ounce container of whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), plus three tablespoons of instant chocolate pudding mix for an extra chocolate kick. Stir until fully mixed, chill in the refrigerator for an hour, then pipe onto sugar cookies by using a piping bag (Don’t have a piping bag? Make your own). Top with edible sugar pearls, “tie a napkin ’round your neck, cherie,” and dig in!

More Disney Magic At Home

Just as we all began sheltering in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney launched a new website, Disney Magic Moments, to help keep us busy at home while we wait for the theme parks to reopen. In addition to activities, videos and resources, they’ve been sharing plenty of recipes we’ve been trying at home. You can now recreate your favorite theme park snacks — like churro bites, Dole Whip, Mickey beignets, grilled cheese and French toast — in your own kitchen.
