These DIY produce baskets are easy to assemble and will make your kitchen look great

‘Tis the season for spring cleaning and revamping spaces in your home. If you’re looking for an easy and super affordable way to spruce up your kitchen — we’ve found it with an attractive way to display your produce that you can make yourself.

This DIY produce-basket setup is very simple to make and will transform a corner of your kitchen into a mini farmer’s market. How cute is that?

This project comes to you from the folks at HGTV, and they’ve provided a list of all of the tools and objects you’ll need to complete it, along with a step-by-step video to show how it’s done. The best part of all is — you don’t have to be a master carpenter by any means to pull this off.

All you’ll need is a shutter, some S-hooks and wire baskets to complete this project. Anything else is purely extra and will allow you to decorate and label your produce baskets. For example, HGTV shows you how to take scrap wood and turn it into mini-chalkboards to attach to your wire baskets, but you can skip that step if you’d like.

Makes you want to immediately give this a try, huh?

HGTV’s method isn’t the only DIY produce setup we found online. The Pretty Handy Girl blog also demonstrates how to build your own board for your baskets to hang from in case you don’t happen to have an extra shutter lying around.

The end result is just as cute:

And if you’re looking for other ways to clear counter space but still keep lots of fresh fruit in your kitchen, Pinterest is always a great place to turn to for ideas.

For example, I found that the blog Always Rooney has a tutorial that will show you how to create a handmade hanging fruit basket:
