Meet Henry and Baloo. These furry friends have a lot in common. First, they are rescue animals. Like they’re owners, they love the outdoors. And, they are are super photogenic. Henry is a dog and Baloo is a cat, but they are inseparable.

The four-legged pals met after Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend adopted them. The couple rescued Henry as a puppy in 2014. He stood out because he was the largest puppy in the bunch and had wolf-like characteristics. Henry hopped in her lap. The rest was history.

Henry Fit In With His Active Owners

The active couple brought Henry on hikes and trips around Colorado. “I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike, which was to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs,” Bennett told the Dodo. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.”

Baloo Joined The Family This Fall

Next, Bennett adopted Baloo this fall after searching for an adventurous rescue kitten.

“He ran right up to me,” Bennett told the Dodo.

She described him as playful, but not too rowdy. Like Henry, Baloo wanted to tag along on hikes.

“He’s definitely not the kind of cat we can leave home alone on the weekend anymore,” she told the Dodo. “I think he thinks he’s more a dog than anything.”

Bennett snapped photos of the furry friends and shared them on Instagram with amazing results. Now, the @henrythecoloradodog account has more than 160,000 followers. Take a look at some of their recent adventures from Instagram.
