Tune into a virtual Dolly Parton Christmas concert to get into the holiday spirit

The CDC just released their latest guidelines for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, highlighting the fact that small indoor gatherings are a large contributor to the spread of the coronavirus.

As such, many people are making the difficult decision to stay home instead of spending time with loved ones this holiday season. But, luckily, there are many ways you can still find the Christmas spirit, even if you’re celebrating socially-distant style.

One of the best ways to turn your Grinch frown upside down is to listen to Dolly Parton’s upcoming virtual holiday concert. On Nov. 13, the beloved singer will take to the stage to help spread the holiday spirit across the nation. Starting at 1 p.m. ET, “Dolly Parton’s Comin’ Home for Christmas” will feature songs from her new holiday album (“A Holly Dolly Christmas” is her first holiday record in 30 years) as well as a live Q&A session with fans.

Emmy award-winning actor and “Will and Grace” star Leslie Jordan will host the special. The Tennessee native has said that he is one of Parton’s biggest fans, and for years Jordan spoke of how he longed to meet the country music legend. Finally, not only has his long-cherished dream come true but he is actually hosting this lovely special with her!

We have never been more in need of Parton’s warm spirit and homey vibes. In fact, in a recent episode of “A Late Show,” Parton reduced funnyman Stephen Colbert to tears with her impromptu rendition of “Bury Me Beneath the Willow.”

“Like a lot of Americans, I’m under a lot of stress right now,” Colbert laughed as he dabbed away tears.

Needless to say, if you plan to tune into “Dolly Parton’s Comin’ Home for Christmas,” have the eggnog and the tissues handy!
