Donald Glover Met The Girl Scout Who Went Viral Singing ‘Redbone,’ And He Placed A Huge Cookie Order

This is so sweet!

Hey, so you all remember Charity Joy Harrison, the Girl Scout who went viral after she and her dad filmed an adorable video of the two singing a cookie-themed version of Childish Gambino’s song “Redbone,” right?

Well, in that story, we pondered how awesome it would be if Childish Gambino helped little Charity Joy sell all of her cookies. As it turns out, we got our wish! Childish Gambino — aka the actor Donald Glover, star of “Community” and “Atlanta” — made it happen.

So, here’s Charity Joy, her dad and their adorable video:

As it turns out, Glover appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” this week and naturally, Colbert asked him if he has seen the viral video.

Glover noted that a lot of people had sent him the video, especially since the girl is from Atlanta, which is the same area where he grew up.

He also confessed to being pretty surprised at the parody. “I never was like, ‘I’ll make this and then one day a little girl will sell Girl Scout cookies to it,'” he told Colbert. “A lot of people sent that to me. I was really touched.”

Colbert then asked if watching the video made Glover hungry for Girl Scout cookies.

“Yeah, I would actually really like to buy some from her,” Glover said.

And then, using the miracle of TV, Charity Joy and her father appeared on stage and handed Glover an order form. When he found out that Charity Joy’s goal was to sell 113 more boxes, Glover simply said, “I’ll take ’em all,” because what good is having a lot of money if you can’t buy tons of Girl Scout cookies with it?

Skip to the 7:20 mark if you want to go straight to the cookie stuff:

Oh, but it got better! Colbert, Glover, Charity Joy and her dad then proceeded to hand out boxes of Thin Mints to everyone in the studio audience. EVERYBODY GETS A BOX OF COOKIES!

Man, this is making us hungry for Girl Scout cookies, too! Just remember, the window to buy Girl Scout cookies is quickly closing: You have until March 25 to place your orders. So make sure to pick some up — unless you happen to know Donald Glover, in which case, just check his freezer.
